"Frank, the Bunny Nebula..." parallel layering of Garuda eyes.......desaturated, disassembled, re-colored, then reassembled as abstraction....in 3-D SX-70 format......with a dozen hidden/unconscious images, brought into view with the 'right' glasses.....S
o 'what's the point?'......there is no 'point'......... only 'circles of endless repetition'.......a 'point' requires a line of sight, doesn't it?.....a 'unique, simplistic location' in Euclidian Space.......

"GREATNESS of dimension is a powerful cause of the sublime. This is too evident, and the observation too common, to need any illustration … However, it may not be amiss to add to these remarks upon magnitude, that, as the great extreme of dimension is sublime, so the last extreme of littleness is in some measure sublime likewise: when we attend to the infinite divisibility of matter, when we pursue animal life into these excessively small, and yet organised beings, that escape the nicest inquisition of the sense; when we push our discoveries yet downward, and consider those creatures so many degrees yet smaller, and the still diminishing scale of existence, in tracing which the imagination is lost as well as the sense; we become amazed and confounded at the wonders of minuteness; nor can we distinguish in its effects this extreme of littleness from the vast itself."    Edmund Burke’s A Philosophical Enquiry into the Origins of our Ideas of the Beautiful and the Sublime (1757)

Watching THE STORY OF LOUIS PASTEUR this morning on TCM  elicited memories of my first readings of the 17th Century Metaphysical Poets, and my own subsequent attempts at writing abstract, often abstruse, poetry in my late teens.....bored by the fatuous Pre-Raphaelite ramblings into chivalric Romanticism and my 'need' to unearth 'the sublime plurality produced by the collisions of Theoretical Science, the 'proven' body of 'Proven' Science and the vestiges of Old Religions that had muddled, with dogmatic 'veritas', the inestimable journey toward enlightenment via mathematically provable observation.....  William Blake was a pivot, of course, as John Donne had been...in my earlier readings of metaphysical poetry....still in the metaphorical quicksand of ancient preconceptions........I thought and reflected upon my intuitive view into my own visualizations of how the folds of Human frontal lobes continue to bring together constructs of mind and thought that had been more separated on the flat planes of intellectual process thinking, before.....

I am soooo eager to watch the upcoming COSMOS Series......which, hopefully, will squish some new grey matter together enough for more Change to substantiate, develop and 'fix' in the grandiose Formulae that determine the directionality of mass contemplation and, eventually, new neurons that connect to the as yet undeveloped cellular constructs of the Future.......

The Thought is an antique, now........a Free One......

EVERY day is Atheist day, for me, anyway....not just this coming Saturday....So....lots of celebrations, since I was 13......I remember the day that 'all that' vanished from my perspectives......8th Grade....My 'home room' class was 'led' into its then compulsory prayer and 'pledge of allegiance to 'The United States Of America" one morning...like all other 'mornings' in the Alabama Public School System; then, an hour later, we were off to the Auditorium, single file, where some guest religious speaker was to perform (after the 'system' had 'outlawed' a 16MM sex education film (that I'd rather have seen....for sure!) ........My then still latent 'disbelief' was 'outed' by all that morning's demonstration of religious faith.......I felt so relieved that 'GOD' was dead and I was free to think as I wished.....and, besides, hormones had begun to ravish my brain, which had far more interesting ideas to occupy it....a few years later, at 15, I watched the movie, Inherit The WInd, which nailed the 'Religion' coffin, stuffed full of dogma, shut...In '10th grade' I read Origin of Species and The Interpretation Of Dreams...and that was that! Interestingly, both of these books were 'banned' by the School System, and were conspicuously absent from the School Library.........I believed that 'we' were just some more monkeys......In 1963, now a student at Vanderbilt, my thoughts and ideas were reified by Dr. David Nunnally, who first introduced 'Genetics' and 'Evolutionary Biology' to the SYSTEM........

Words from The Larger Perspectives and the Scale of Possibilities

There is more to spontaneity than caprice and disorder......or thoughts of the moment, speared on the tips of spontaneity and compelled by random associations, lit...framed..bound as ritual sacrifices to be ensconced in 'shows', seated or standing theaters, walls with plaques or silver screens....bound between covers, baked in ovens or traipsed down runways.......

The Unique's Coalescence With Uniform Content

Each of us, in intimate self-contemplation, thinks himself unique, singular, knowing and right; yet, we congregate like lemmings, who...not so unlike dragon lizards.....inflate this part or that or this thought or another....in conjunction with our not-so-particular genetic proclivities.....that we might be 'viewed', with some focus of intentions, toward our presentation...as worthy of the spotlights and microphones......scripted with the moment's words and postures.....yet, there is little profound variation....for even deep 'thought' variation produces long-range genetic Change...impatient, we may be, but remember....it took a billion years for us to leave the primordial swamps...just to walk on our back fins, drop our gill slits and flare our rather insensitive nostrils, you know.....And now, we can even 'read' & 'write' and develop rudimentary logic circuits to analyze the rhetoric and constructs of other humans......But, we are still 'naming', then 'name-calling', then locking horns, fins, and intellectual appendages with even those we love the most......the old lizard brains, still running the show from our ancient brain stems, are still recalcitrant harbingers of Ancient, ingrained Ways and Means of temporary satisfactions through the naming and defining of Everything.........Rise UP.....there's plenty of room to 'grow'....That's why there are still 'plates' of bony cranium that expand from microdots of neurons to wherever it is that we're going from the protection of caves and trees, then islands and tall precipices, .......Who knows what tomorrows bring.......For even 'tomorrow' is a projection, isn't it, of probabilities and wish-fulfilling prophesies, imagined in the smoke rises, that we will then name, as though to make the projections seem 'real' and the smoke, Gods.....

The Naming Of Cats by T. S. Eliot

"The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn't just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
First of all, there's the name that the family use daily,
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James,
Such as Victor or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey--
All of them sensible everyday names.
There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:
Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter--
But all of them sensible everyday names.
But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?
Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum-
Names that never belong to more than one cat.
But above and beyond there's still one name left over,
And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover--
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.
When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
His ineffable effable
Effanineffable
Deep and inscrutable singular Name."

inspecting this old Blog entry for 'broken links" , change of or redirection of Mind, and searching for the discoveries of Random Juxtaposition........

If "Philosophy is just a byproduct of misunderstanding 'language'....", then, what does the abandonment of the tools of clear communication have to do with interactive confusion and the dumbedowness of current nonsensical doubletalking......Yeah, what about it Mr. Orwell? It's not that neon-like, bachelorettes.....do you not 'get it', hollow men? Well, that kind of life does look pretty interesting....."Does this kind of life look interesting to you? Night after night, dinners with Herb Cohen. Thrill-packed, fun-filled evenings on the French Riviera at the MIDEM convention. A big tie, the whole bit. Watch Mutt eat, and Leon feed the geese. One thousand green business cards, with your name and the wrong address. Plus six royalty statements, inspected and customized by ran toon tan han toon frammet and dee. Followed by twelve potential suicides as the members of your group, past and present, find out they can't collect unemployment. A dog, a car, an epidemic of body lice with your own record company, your name on the door, electric buzzer to the inner office, Ona's tits, and a three month supply of German bookings with tickets on Air Rangoon. Does this kind of life look interesting to you? As a big rock and roll guitar player in a comedy group?" Frank Zappa
